How to make CS2 clips on your phone

You play CS2 on PC, but you can get the clips on your phone: killcam.gg runs in your phone's browser, clips your matchmaking plays from Valve's demos, and lets you download or share the 9:16 MP4. Sign in through Steam, link your match history once, and new clips show up a few minutes after each match.

UPDATED

01How it works

CS2 doesn't run on phones, so the match itself is played on PC as usual. The clipping doesn't happen on your PC though. Valve records a demo of every matchmaking game (Premier, Competitive, Wingman), and killcam.gg reads that demo, finds your plays and clips them on our servers. Nothing to record, nothing to copy from your PC to your phone.

New matches are found automatically within minutes of finishing, and each clip takes a few minutes to make.

02No app to install

killcam.gg is a website, and it works in your phone's browser. There's no app to download. Sign in, link your codes, browse your clips, download or share them, all from the browser. Sign-in goes through Steam's own login page, which also works on phones.

03Set it up from your phone

  1. Open killcam.gg in your phone's browser and sign in through Steam.
  2. Open Steam's match history help page, sign in, and tap Create Authentication Code. Copy the code (XXXX-XXXXX-XXXX) and the share code of your most recent match shown on the same page.
  3. Back on killcam.gg, paste both in the onboarding on the Matches page (or Settings → Match sync).
  4. Play on PC. Your clips appear on the Clips page, where you can filter by Ace, Clutch, Multi-kill or Kill.

The authentication code isn't your password: it only lets apps read your match history, and you can revoke it on that same Steam page. More detail in how to get your share code and authentication code.

04Posting to TikTok, Reels or Shorts from your phone

Every clip comes in both 16:9 and 9:16 from one job. On the clip page, the switch under the player flips between 16:9 · YouTube and 9:16 · TikTok, Reels, Shorts.

  1. Open the clip and switch to 9:16.
  2. Tap Share. On phones it sends the 9:16 MP4 file itself through your phone's share sheet, so you can pick the app you post to. If your browser can't share files, it shares the link instead.
  3. Or tap Download 9:16 to save the MP4 and upload it from the app later.

The 9:16 is a centred full-height crop of a HUD-free capture, with the kill feed laid out again for the vertical frame, so nothing gets half cut off. On Free, the small watermark sits inside the vertical safe area. YouTube counts vertical videos up to 3 minutes as Shorts, and a play from one round fits well within that. More in clean 9:16 clips for TikTok.

For group chats, Discord copies the clip link, and Discord embeds the video when you paste it. Post to X is there too. See sharing to Discord or X.

05Good to know

  • Valve matchmaking only: Premier, Competitive and Wingman. No FACEIT, no uploading your own .dem files.
  • Older matches work while Valve still has the demo, typically a few weeks at most.
  • Clips are public by default. You can make one unlisted or private, or change the default in Settings.
  • Free clips your top play from every match. Pro clips your top 3, and lets you open any match, pick a kill and hit Clip it.
