Privacy

We collect what we need to clip your matches and nothing else. We don't sell your data.

01What we collect

  • Your Steam ID, Steam name and avatar, from Steam sign-in.
  • Your CS2 game authentication code and share codes, if you turn on match sync. The auth code is stored encrypted.
  • Share codes you paste into the “Has my demo expired?” checker in our guides, when we have to ask Valve about the match: the share code and Valve's answer (whether it knows the match, its demo download link and when it was played). Nothing ties a check to you: no account, IP address or browser is stored with it. The share code decoder in the guides runs in your browser and sends nothing.
  • Match data from the demos we download: scoreboards, rounds and kills.
  • The clips we make for you, and your clip settings.
  • Basic security logs: sign-in times, IP address and browser, used to protect your account.
  • How you found us: page views, clicks on clips and buttons, and where a visit came from (the website you clicked a link on, or a campaign tag in the link). See “How we measure visits” below. No IP address or browser string is kept for this, only your country.

02What we never see

  • Your Steam password or Steam Guard codes.
  • Your inventory, skins or friends list.
  • Your card details. Payments are handled entirely by Dodo Payments.

03How we use it

  • To find your matches, clip your best plays and show them to you.
  • To run billing for Pro, and to keep the service secure and working.
  • To see which links bring people in, where they drop off, and how many sign up and clip, so we can improve the site.

04Who we share it with

  • Valve/Steam, to sign you in, fetch your matches and look up the share codes you check in our guides.
  • Cloudflare, which stores clips and match files for us.
  • Dodo Payments, for subscriptions and receipts.

05What others can see

Clips are public by default: anyone can watch them, and they can appear on our homepage with your Steam name. Make any clip unlisted (only people with the link can watch) or private (only you) at any time from its card in Clips, its match page or its share page, and pick what new clips start as in Settings → Clip defaults.

06Clips you appear in

If you play on Killcam.gg and show up in another player's public or unlisted clip (as the player they killed, or as an assister), it is listed on your Featured page, and the clip's owner can notify you about it. We only show what the public clip already shows, and only to you and that clip's owner. Turn it off any time in Settings → Account → Clips I'm in: you then aren't listed to clip owners, can't be notified, and your Featured page stays empty. You can also hide a clip from your list or mute a player. Clip owners never learn who turned this off or muted them.

07How long we keep it

  • Raw gameplay captures are deleted after about 30 days. Your clips stay until you delete them.
  • Delete your clips any time with Settings → Account → Clear clips, or delete your whole account there too. This removes your clips and codes.
  • We keep payment records as long as tax law requires.
  • Demo checker lookups (the share code and Valve's answer) are deleted after 14 days. To limit how often one connection can check, your IP address is held in memory for at most an hour and never written down; answers stay in memory for 30 minutes so repeat checks don't ask Valve again.
  • Visit statistics: individual events (a page view, a click) are deleted after 90 days; the visit summary they belong to (entry page, source, country, device type) after 400 days. If you signed up, where you came from stays with your account until you delete it.

08Your rights

You can download a copy of your data from Settings → Account → Request export, and delete your account at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have other rights, such as correcting your data or objecting to how it's used.

09How we measure visits

We count visits ourselves, on our own servers. For every visit we keep: the pages you open and when, clicks on things like download, share and sign-in buttons, the website or campaign that sent you, your country (from your connection, via Cloudflare), and your device type, browser and operating system as broad families such as “mobile, Chrome, Android”. We never store your IP address or your raw browser string.

Without your consent, a visit is told apart from other visits by a one-way hash of your IP address and browser, mixed with a secret that changes every day. It can't be turned back into either, and after midnight UTC it no longer matches anything, so we can count people for a day but not follow them from day to day. Nothing is stored on your device for this.

When you sign in with Steam we connect that day's visit to your account, so we know which link a new account came from, which clips and upgrades followed, and whether you come back. Our team's own visits are not counted.

Clips embedded on other websites play from our servers. We count each time an embedded player loads or plays, with the website it sits on (its address without the page), only in the cookieless way above: the player sets no cookies, its counting ignores any you have (even if you accepted them here), and it is never linked to an account.

All of this stays with us: we use no third-party analytics, advertising pixels or tag services, and no third party receives this data. The small scripts we sometimes add to measure a page (for example “how many visitors scrolled to the end”) report to the same first-party counting.

10Cookies

We set no advertising or third-party cookies. These are the cookies we use:

  • Always, to make the site work: kc_session keeps you signed in, kc_steam_state secures Steam sign-in for a few minutes, kc_theme remembers light or dark, kc_consent remembers your answer to the cookie bar for a year, and kc_ev is a two-minute note that you just signed in.
  • Only if you press Accept: kc_vid, a random ID (13 months) that lets us recognise a returning visitor, and kc_ft (30 days), which remembers the first link that brought you here, so a new account can be traced to it. Measurement scripts that need your consent also wait for Accept, and never run if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal. For visitors who accepted, our servers may pass anonymous event data (such as “signed up” or “became Pro”, with the campaign that brought you and an ID that isn't your Steam ID) to other systems we run ourselves; never to a third party, and never your name, Steam ID, avatar or IP address.
  • If you press Decline, none of the second group is set and any of them you had are removed. We still count your visit in the cookieless way described above.

Change your mind any time with “Cookie settings” in the footer. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, we treat it as Decline until you say otherwise.
